The Pharr Literacy Project will be the Rio Grande Valley's most effective nonprofit literacy education resource in terms of the numbers of individuals served, our innovative programs, the quality of services delivered and our essential value to the community.

• We are the largest and most sought out nonprofit literacy program in the region.
• Our reputation for excellence in the literacy field is equal to or better than the best of our peer organizations in breaking he cycles of poverty.
• Our financial base is sufficiently broad and deep so that we are not constrained in our efforts to imporve the lives of those we serve.
• We are offering the most diverse and innovative array of literacy services and educational opportunities available regionally, particularly though non-traditional aproaches including integration of literacy with cultural arts.
• We have a waiting list for our classes equal to no more than half the number of individuals we can accommodate.
• We have three months or more of  surplus funds to cover expenses.
• We have added a paid development professional a coordinator for volunteers to our staff.
• We have a growing ability to attract human and financial resources from people, institutions and businesses beyond our immediate region.
• Our applications for funding are received as being important and accorded consideration on a par with other highly respected human services organizations.
• Our staff salaries and benefits will be on a par with competitive organizations thoughout the region.
• We  are in a financial position where we can offer volunteers paid PT and FT positions.
• Our technological infrasturcture and capabilities are in keeping with our growth.
• Our volunteers are staying with us long-term as a result of recognition and understanding of what they are accomplishing.
